Last week we also met with a lactation consultant (Dawn from Bethesda Breastfeeding) because Sam's latch was shallow and causing me a lot of pain. We worked with Dawn when we had weight gain problems with Josh, so it was great to work with her again. She helped me get Sam to latch better and made sure he didn't have any problems like tongue tie. Even though I breastfed Josh for 17 months, Sam is a very different baby and it was really good to have someone help us out.
Sam has been spending more time awake, but is generally a pretty happy baby. He mostly cries when something is actually wrong, and is content other times. Sometimes he just wants to be held, and both Julian and I have been enjoying chilling with him. Whoever has the baby has a good excuse to chill on the couch and hold him :-)
